Objetos Pastoriles

Jesús Gómez Jara is an Historian who has created an ethnographical collection of Pastoral Art, spanning the end of the 19th century up to the middle of the 20th.

He has amassed over 100 items dating from musical instruments, pots and pouches to milk churns and jewelry.

He brings a selection of items each year to exhibit during the open day and explains their history, use and provenance.

The Wool Symposium really appreciates his valuable contribution to the day and Jesús' enthusiasm for keeping these traditions alive.

If you would like to contact Jesus to know more about his collection please write to us.

Isabel Romeo Biedma (Spain)

Taiko

Is a professional Taiko performer. (Taiko is a broad range of Japanese Drums)

Taiko for me is a joyous way of personal development

Her first contact with Taiko was working in Japan as a dancer with Ago Kaijin Daiko group, who she performed with for  two years. Her other  taiko origins are in the city of Ise and its Shinto shrine. There she performed with Shin-On Daiko  at theTaiko festival. Living in Japan marked Isabel and her professional career.

My aim is to share the energy and beauty of Taiko so that people can enjoy its benefits

as players as well as audience. I dream (and work for) an open and respectful Taiko

community in Spain and abroad, connected from the heart.
